Photo size chart: centimetres to pixels at 300 DPI

By CraftCrop · Updated 4 November 2026

When preparing a photo for a resin mould, set the physical size in the CraftCrop editor. The pixel values below are a reference for a sharp source image at 300 DPI. They are approximate because pixels come in whole numbers.

Diameter / sideApprox. pixels at 300 DPICommon shape use
3 cm354 pxSmall circles and squares
4 cm472 pxSmall keepsake moulds
5 cm591 pxPopular round inserts
5.5 cm650 pxLarge round inserts
6 cm709 pxLarge circles and squares
7 cm827 pxLarge keepsake shapes

How the estimate works

At 300 pixels per inch, one centimetre corresponds to about 118 pixels. For an accurate calculation, use pixels = centimetres ÷ 2.54 × 300, then round to the nearest whole pixel. A 5.5 cm circle therefore needs about 650 pixels across for a 300 DPI source.

For rectangles and ovals, check both width and height. For heart shapes, use the width and height settings in the editor; the same pixel-per-centimetre estimate applies to each dimension.

Source photo size and export size are different

CraftCrop exports the sheet at 300 DPI. A small source image may still look soft if enlarged. Choose the clearest original available and use the photo quality note in the editor as a guide.

Remember print scaling

Choose the right paper and print at Actual size or 100%. Fit-to-page settings can shrink or enlarge every shape. Measure one test print with a ruler before making a batch.
