How to choose clear photos for small resin prints
Small resin inserts show details clearly, so the photo you start with matters. A 300 DPI export defines the output sheet resolution; it cannot restore detail that is missing from the original image.
Start with the original
Use the original photo from the camera when possible. Photos sent through messaging apps or downloaded from social feeds may have been compressed. Avoid screenshots when a better source is available.
Check the subject at the final size
Faces and important details need enough room inside the selected shape. A tightly cropped portrait may work well in a circle, while a wider photo may need repositioning or a different shape. Use the editor preview to zoom and move the image inside the cut line.
Estimate the pixels you need
At 300 DPI, each centimetre needs about 118 pixels. For example, a 5 cm circle needs around 591 pixels across, and a 6 cm circle about 709 pixels. More source pixels give you more flexibility to crop.
Watch for blur and lighting
Choose a sharp, well-lit photo with good contrast. If a face already looks blurred on your phone screen, printing it small will not make it clearer. Avoid enlarging a tiny subject far beyond its original size.
Leave room around the subject
Curved shapes trim the corners of a rectangular photo. Keep faces, text, and other essential details away from the edges, then adjust the crop preview. Print one sample before preparing a large order.
